1928 LASALLE

The bodies were a continuation of the 1927 LaSalle line.

  • Fisher business coupe, five passenger family sedan on 125" wheelbase, five-passenger coupe, five-passenger cabriolet sedan, seven-passenger family sedan on 134" wheelbase added
  • Fleetwood coupe and sedan dropped, transformable town cabriolet on 134" wheelbase added in midyear
  • The five passenger standard sedan came with leather or metal back
  • The five-passenger and seven-passenger family sedans were "economy" version of the standard sedans
  • The five-passenger family sedan and the business coupe were offered at the new low price of $2350
  • Details remained the same except for added side ventilators in the cowl on closed cars and 28 louvers toward the rear of the hood panels on all body styles
  • The number of louvers might have signified the year, but Cadillac for 1928 had 30 louvers
  • The chassis, driveline, and engine were similar to the 1927 model except the shock absorbers were changed to Lovejoy hydraulic
  • The clutch changed to twin disc.
  • Many detail changes made to brakes and brake linkage, including 16" brake drums on front wheels and keeping the 14" brake drums on the rear.

I.D. DATA

  • Serial numbers were not used on the 1928 LaSalle
  • Engine numbers stamped on a plate on the front face of the dash and on the crankcase just below the water inlet on the right side
  • Starting: 212001. Ending: 226806.
