Major changes for 1975 involved the following:

  • improved bumpers which looked the same
  • a catalytic converter
  • a new High-Energy ignition
  • the speedometer included kilometers-per-hour. In the USA, mph was the dominant display with km/hr in smaller characters and the odometer registering miles. In Canada, the reverse was true.
  • This was the last year for the Corvette convertible

1975 Corvette Notes

  • The 454-cid engine was dropped this year in all Corvettes
  • The convertible was also dropped
  • Car and Driver tested a 1975 and found that it did the quarter-mile in 16.1 seconds and did 0-to-60 in 7.7 seconds with a top speed of 129 mph
  • Robert D. Lund became Chevrolet general manager
  • Zora Arkus-Duntov retired as Chevrolet's chief engineer.
  • David R. McLellan became the chief engineer.
