1987 FIREBIRD

• The sporty F-body Firebird had few changes for 1987.
• The dropping of the SE coupe was the big one.
• A new Formula option was offered.
• A body-color aero spoiler with a high-mounted stoplight embedded in it was one change.
• Base Firebirds also had a new seat with adjustable headrest and Ripple cloth upholstery.
• New options included
  • body-color body side moldings
  • molded door panel trim (except GTA)
  • availability of the Y99 performance suspension on base models
• A 5.7-liter multi-port fuel injected V-8 performance engine was optional in cars with the Formula package and standard in the GTA, which was itself a new Trans Am option.
• A four-way manual adjustable seat was now standard in Trans Ams.
