1982 Coupe DeVille
Powered by the new HT-4100 Digital Fuel Injection V-8 with automatic overdrive transmission, DeVille's dash contained a new standard Fuel Data Panel to help determine the most fuel-efficient route. Pushbuttons could display outside temperature or average trip MPG, or amount of fuel used. This year's new grille was made up of thin vertical bars, sectioned by two horizontal bars. The wide upper horizontal header, finished in brushed chrome and running full width, held the customary Cadillac script. Quad rectangular headlamps stood directly above rectangular amber-lensed parking/signal lamps. Cornering lamps with clear and amber lenses wrapped around the fender sides. DeVilles displayed a wreath and crest stand-up hood ornament.

Standard interiors used Heather knit cloth with matching Dundee ribbed cloth inserts, in five colors. Leather in the ribbed seating areas was optional, in choice of eight shades. A Cabriolet roof with bright crossover roof molding was available for the Coupe DeVille. DeVille d'Elegance had pillow-style seats in Venetian velour cloth, in four colors; plus opera lamps and accent striping. Sedan versions added three roof-mounted passenger assist straps. D'Elegance editions were identified by script on the roof sail panels.
